‘Roses for Your Garden’ Oct. 6 in Harrington Park

The Garden Club of Harrington Park will hold their next meeting 7:30 p.m. Thu., Oct. 6 upstairs in the Harrington Park Library.

Jeffrey Van Pelt will present a program titled “Roses for Your Garden & How to Grow Them.”
In his lecture, Van Pelt will provide the basics of growing good roses as well as reviewing roses that perform well in the garden. 

Van Pelt was the horticulture supervisor of the Somerset County Park Commission from 1998 until his retirement in 2013 where he oversaw the maintenance of the Colonial Park Gardens, golf course and the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden, and designed and directed the instillation of landscape planting throughout the park system. 

The library is at 10 Herring St.
