Don’t have a garden or greenhouse? Tiny ferns and other tropical plants thrive in the humid conditions of an enclosed glass jar as if in their own miniature greenhouse. 

Start on your own tropical plant collection with Wave Hill’s Terrarium Workshop, 2 p.m. Sat., March 11—design and plant your own fanciful landscape with a selection of diminutive plants, perfect for home or office.

Wave Hill gardener Albert Cabrera provides plants, materials and technical assistance.

The garden is at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, Bronx.

Cost is $50. Registration required.
